KEPA ARRIZABALAGA believes he should play Liverpool on Sunday to make one for being left out of the Club World Cup final.
Chelsea's Spanish goalkeeper believes Thomas Tuchel owes him a place in Sunday's Carabao Cup final as a consolation prize.
When Kepa was withdrawn and replaced by Edouard Mendy for the showpiece match against Palmeiras 13 days ago, which saw Chelsea crowned global champions, he was upset.
After making important saves in the semi-final, he was replaced by Mendy, who had just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. While Mendy was abroad on international duty with Senegal last month, Kepa deputised in all competitions and played in every round of Chelsea's road to Wembley.
Even though the £71.6m goalkeeper is optimistic about playing this weekend, he isn't taking anything for granted as he tries to persuade Tuchel that he is deserving of a regular starting spot.
That was demonstrated in the Club World Cup final in Abu Dhabi, where he was benched as Chelsea won the famous trophy for the first time with a 2-1 victory. Tuchel says that Mendy is the team's No. 1 right now and is open about his decision to select the Senegalese international.
